Third Eye, Inc launched is first portable surveillance systems. The Security Alert Tracking System (SATS) in March, 2007 as part of the New Products Showcase of the ISC West Expo. Below is a description of the product and the underlying technology.
Security Alert Tracking System

The underlying premise of SATS is that the human heart rate fluctuates in stressful situations, such as being subjected to threatening behavior or when engaged in illegal activities. By monitoring these fluctuations, a company can provide greater safety and security for employees.
The centerpiece of Third Eye's SATS unit is a wrist-mounted device that employees can wear comfortably to send information continuously and wirelessly to the employer’s central monitoring system. The unit can be worn as a bracelet or a wristwatch. If the heart-rate exhibits unnatural fluctuations, the information is captured on the central monitoring receiving system. Thus, it acts as a panic switch without requiring the employee to press a button. It can be integrated into existing closed circuit video networks or configured as a standalone turnkey system with its own video network of cameras which, when triggered, zoom in on the employee.
In sum, SATS enhances employee security and assists in apprehending employees engaged in unlawful activities by allowing the surveillance team to identify the source of the stressful situation and investigate it.
SATS is primarily designed to serve the gaming (casinos), banking, office and retail industries.
Technology Partner

SATS' underlying technology for monitoring key vital signs was developed by its technology partner developed by SPO Medical (SPOM.PK), a leading developer of biosensor and microprocessor technologies for use in portable monitoring devices. SPO Medical developed a bio-sensor chip with proprietary algorithms to collect information from the reflectance of light on the human body, in a non-invasive manner, to monitor key vital signs, including heart rate and oxygen saturation levels. SPO Medical adapts its technology to address needs of four key markets: medical care; home and remote-care; sports and wellness; and safety and security. SPO Medical's Technology
Pulse oximetry is a very important non-invasive process used to measure blood oxygen saturation levels (SpO2) by monitoring the percentage of hemoglobin (Hb), which is saturated with oxygen as well as measuring heart rate.
SPO Medical developed small, sensors that work accurately during physical activity, as typical motion artifacts have been compensated for within the system algorithms.
SPO Medical’s patented technology uses the reflectance technique, in which light is reflected on the blood stream and sensors situated next to the light source measure heart rate and oxygen saturation.
This enables its sensors to operate with a power requirement about 1/50th of that compared to alternative transmission sensors. This enables its sensors to be incorporated into small, convenient to wear devices, such as SATS. SPO Medical’s system operates in an RF wireless mode. IR technology is also available for short-range wireless data transmission.
